Overview:
Stepping into a newly expanded role, the Director of Learning & Development at a global pharmaceutical company aimed unite the Business Unit under a cohesive strategy with a shared set of learning priorities. Together, we collaborated with key business leaders to break down barriers, speak openly about challenges, and align on strategic priorities, setting the stage for future success.
Our Approach:
1. Evaluate the learning landscape
Conducted interviews with leaders to understand their perspectives of L&D support and future hopes
2. Designed a prioritized heatmap
Created a full curriculum assessment highlighting opportunities aligned with organizational goals
3. Establish an operational plan
Leveraged the heatmap to define quick wins, strategic priorities, support structure, and roadmap
4. Align and embed within the organization
Provided an executive level view of the heatmap and operational plan to obtain leadership approval and buy-in
Vision Realized:
Pioneered a new way to visualize learning maturity against business goals
Developed a process to prioritize 18+ key training initiatives to over 200 employees
Established a new way of working to ensure training meets business objectives
